Bonds Cay, Berry Islands, Bahamas

Seeking out a calm anchorage for windy weather ahead, we moved from Cabbage Cay, past Frozen and Alders Cays to Bonds Cay by slipping through the charted path at high tide to the anchorage out of the ocean swells. Our choice of beach on the banks side or a hike across the island to the Tongue of the Ocean side beach great for beach combing.

Hiking the path  across the island through the brush to the  ocean side beach

Surf's up!

Rocky shore makes for great sea glass hunting

Sargassum seaweed brings in the sea beans
Adding our float to make the trail head visible from the water
Ashore on the banks side beach near anchorage
Even lawn chairs wash ashore and end up in shade of casuarina trees

Shore birds hopping along the iron stone shore

Sea pen washed up on sandy beach

Gorgeous vegetation lines the beach
Cactus along the shore line
Catching small fish like yellow tailed snapper but not keeper size

The only development on Bonds Cay consists of cabins and shelters
